Springfield Art & Mill Race Walk
10 km. (6.2 miles) rated easy. Shorter or longer distances are also available.
This walk is on sidewalks and a wide paved path. It explores downtown Springfield's 15 outstanding murals and 8 storm drain paintings; it then leads to the new Mill Race Path through open fields and forests, following the historic Springfield Mill Race. For extra distance, the Mill Race Path connects to the beautiful Middle Fork Path along the Willamette River. Walkers of all ages and abilities are invited to enjoy this interesting and beautiful walk.
Registration for the walk is anytime between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Springfield Utility District Board Room, 223 A Street in downtown Springfield. Coffee and baked goods will be available there, also restrooms and water. Be sure to carry water with you. Dogs are okay on the walk (leashed and cleaned up after), but not in the building. We ask walkers to finish by 4 p.m.
Free walkers are welcome. If international Volkssport credit is desired, the credit fee is $3, or $1 for children. We'll be glad to answer your questions about upcoming Volkswalks in the Willamette Valley and elsewhere, worldwide Volkssporting, and Volkssport credit
