Troutdale Sandy River Walk
5 km. (3.1 miles) or 10 km. (6.2 miles), both rated easy.
The 5 km. walk is on sidewalks and trails through Lewis and Clark State Park.
The 10 km. walk includes the Sandy River Delta Park, a restored forest, and an architect-designed bird blind.
Both parks are in a very pleasant location close to the Columbia River Gorge.
Carpools will leave the Willamalane Adult Activity Center, 215 West C Street in Springfield, at 7 a.m. and return there about 4:30 p.m. Each rider pays the driver $10 to help cover car expenses. Following the walk, the carpoolers will probably choose a restaurant on the way back to have lunch together; however, lunch arrangements are always optional for each rider/walker.
People traveling to Troutdale on their own should plan to meet the carpoolers at about 9:30 a.m. at the registration point, the Comfort Inn Columbia Gorge Gateway at 1000 NW Graham Road in Troutdale. Or, they may choose to do the walk on their own, registering at the Comfort Inn anytime between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
