St. Patrick's Day Walk, Cedar Hills
6 km. (3.7 miles) or 11 km. (6.8 miles), both rated easy.
Cedar Hills is west of Portland, on the edge of Beaverton. Today's annual Teddy Bear Walk is on sidewalks and road shoulders through Beaverton's Highland neighborhood, two small parks, and a forested area. The Cedar Milers Volkssports Club will collect small and medium Teddy Bears to give to the Dougy Center for Grieving Children and Families: donate if you wish.
Carpools will leave the Willamalane Adult Activity Center, 215 West C Street in Springfield, at 8 a.m. and return there about 4:30 p.m. Each rider pays the driver $10 to help cover car expenses. After the walk, the carpoolers will probably choose a restaurant in Beaverton or on the way home to have lunch together; however, lunch arrangements are always optional for each rider/walker.
People traveling on their own to Beaverton should plan to meet the carpoolers at about 10:15 a.m. at the start point, the Cedar Hills Shopping Center, 3205 SW Cedar Hills Blvd. in Beaverton. Or, they may do the walk on their own, starting from the shopping center anytime between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
