Lebanon - Year Round Walk
5 km. (3.1 miles), 6 km. (3.7 miles), 10km. (6.2 miles) or 12 km. (7.4 miles), all rated easy.
This newly-developed route goes along waterways, through farm areas and older parts of Lebanon, where it passes the old train depot and the new medical school. The start point has exceptionally nice grounds to explore.
Carpools leave the Willamalane Adult Activity Center, 215 West C Street in Springfield, at 9 a.m. and return there about 3:30 p.m. Each rider pays the driver $5 to help cover car expenses. Following the walk, the carpoolers will probably choose a restaurant in Lebanon or Albany to have lunch together; however, lunch arrangements are always optional for each rider/walker.
People traveling to Lebanon on their own should plan to meet the carpoolers at about 10:15 a.m. at the start point, the Best Western Boulder Falls Inn, 505 Muller Drive in Lebanon, at 10:15 A.M. Directions to the Inn, and further details of this walk, can be found by clicking on the "Other Oregon Events" bar at the top left of this page, then "Year Round Events" and scrolling down to "Lebanon- Bayou Trails of Small Town America". Alternately, the same information on this and thousands of other Volkswalks and Volksbikes throughout the United States can be obtained by clicking on the "National Events" bar on this page, then "Events" and following the prompts. The National Events page also has a link to Volkswalks in Canada and 39 other countries (click on "About Us" and "IVV Website").
