The walk in this small coastal town consists of three loops. One is along the oceanfront, with cliffs which are often smashed by waves. Another is on a forested trail, and the third is by the World's Smallest Harbor (and a Coast Guard station). Lovely old homes and refreshing views and breezes are enjoyed on this walk.
Carpools leave the Valley River Inn, 1000 Valley River Way in Eugene, at 7 a.m. and return there about 5 p.m. Each rider pays the driver $10 to help cover car expenses. Following the walk, the carpoolers will probably choose a restaurant along the coast to have lunch together; however, lunch arrangements are always optional for each rider/walker.
People traveling to Depoe Bay on their own should plan to meet the carpoolers at about 10:15 a.m. at the start point, Gracie's Sea Hag Restaurant at 58 North Hwy. 101. Directions to the Sea Hag, as well as further information on this walk, can be found by clicking on the "Other Oregon Events" bar at the top left of this page, then "Year Round Events" and scrolling down to "Depoe Bay - Three Loops by the Sea". Alternately, the same information on this and thousands of other Volkswalks and Volksbikes in the United States can be obtained by clicking on the "National Events" bar on this page, then "Events" and following the prompts. This website also includes links to walks in Canada and 40 other countries.
