5 km. (3.1 miles), provided the marking can be divided between two groups.
If only one group, then 10 km. (6.2 miles).
Rating for the trail is moderately easy on forest paths. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes (there could be mud). Walking sticks may be advisable for those used to them.
We'll meet at 10 a.m. at the Willamalane Adult Activity Center, 215 West C Street in Springfield, to carpool to Shotgun Creek, north of Marcola. A small carpooling fee should be decided on by the participants. Also, a splitting of the $3 day use fee.
The trail marking may take about two hours if there are two groups, four hours if only one group. Upon finishing, some of the participants may decide to have lunch together at a restaurant either in Marcola or Springfield; this is purely optional, of course.
The description of our hosted Shotgun Creek walk is on the calendar at July 23.
