Walk along both Woahink and Cleawox Lakes and through the forested campground, and view extensive sand dunes, all within beautiful Honeyman State Park.
Carpools leave the Valley River Inn, 1000 Valley River Way in Eugene, at 8 a.m. and return there about 3 p.m. Each rider pays the driver $5 to help cover car expenses. Following the walk, the carpoolers will probably pick a restaurant in Florence to have lunch together; however, lunch arrangements are always optional for each rider/walker.
People traveling to Florence on their own should plan to meet the carpoolers at about 9:45 a.m. at the registration point, The Sportsman outdoor store at 249 Hwy. 101, just north of the historic highway bridge in Florence. It is then a short drive to the start point at Woahink Lake.
Directions to The Sportsman, along with further details of this walk, can be found by clicking on the "Other Oregon Events" bar at the top left of this page, then "Year Round Events" and scrolling down to "Florence- A Walk by Two Lakes". Alternately, the same information on this and thousands of other Volkswalks and Volksbikes throughout the United States can be obtained by clicking on the "National Events" bar on this page, then "Events" and following the prompts. The National Events page also has links to Volkswalks in Canade and 46 other countries.
