We will walk with members of the Yachats Coastal Gems Volkssport Club through this delightful town reminiscent of many Oregon coastal towns of the last century and before. Besides older houses and businesses, there are oceanfront areas with salt spray and beautiful views, a forested trail, and a look at the world's smallest harbor (with a Coast Guard station).
Carpools will leave the Valley River Inn (meet in the lobby) at 7 a.m. and return there about 4:30 p.m. Each rider pays the driver $10 to help with car expenses. Following the walk, the carpoolers will probably choose a restaurant along the coast to have lunch together; however, lunch arrangements are always optional for each rider/walker.
People traveling to Depoe Bay on their own should plan to meet the group at about 10 a.m. at the start point, Gracie's Sea Hag Restaurant at 58 North Hwy. 101 (near the bridge) in Depoe Bay. Explicit directions to the Sea Hag, along with further details of this walk, can be found by clicking on the "Other Oregon Events" bar at the top left of this page, then "Year Round Events" and scrolling down to "Depoe Bay - Three Loops by the Sea". Alternately, the same information on this and thousands of other Volkswalks and Volksbikes throughout the United States can be obtained by clicking on the "National Events" bar on this page, then "Events" and following the prompts. This website also lists Volkswalks in Canada and in over 40 other countries.
