Distance variable, from 3 km. (1.9 miles) to 6 km. (3.7 miles), all easy.
The quarterly cleanup of the Eastgate Trail is scheduled for this morning. The area involved is the Willamette River and canoe canal frontage on both sides of the I-5 freeway. This is a picturesque area, pretty well insulated from the noise of freeway traffic. The distance to be walked depends upon how many teams can be formed (two teams is usual, calculating to about 3 km. per team).
Meet in the parking lot of the Willamalane Adult Activity Center, 215 West C Street in Springfield, at 9 a.m. to form teams and obtain "litter-pickers", trash bags and buckets. All a "worker" needs to provide is a good pair of work gloves and a willing spirit.
Upon finishing, probably between 11 and 11:30 a.m., some of the "workers" may decide to have lunch together at a restaurant: this is purely optional, of course.
