Note: This event replaces the previously scheduled carpool to Milwaukie, Oregon; the walk in Milwaukie has been canceled.

5 km. (3.1 miles), 10 km. (6.2 miles), or 13 km. (8 miles), rated moderately easy.

Today's walk is in one of Oregon's most historic towns, and the Linn County Museum, located downtown, displays many fascinating historical items. The walk route includes the Moyer House and other downtown buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. Pioneer Park is near downtown, although the Pioneer Cemetery is out of town, on the 3 km. option beyond the 10 km. route. Come enjoy small town hospitality along with Oregon history!

Carpools will leave the Willamalane Adult Activities Center, 215 West C Street in Springfield, at 9 a.m. and return there about 3 p.m. Each rider pays the driver $5 to help cover car expenses. Following the walk, the carpoolers may choose a restaurant to have lunch together; however, lunch arrangements are always optional for each rider/walker.

People driving to Brownsville on their own should plan to meet the group at about 9:45 a.m. at the start point, the Chevron Gas Station at 203 West Bishop Way (a short distance from downtown Brownsville). Directions to the Chevron Station, along with further details of this walk, can be found by clicking on the "Other Oregon Events" bar at the top left of this page, then "Year Round Events" and scrolling down to "Brownsville". Alternately, the same information on this and thousands of other Volkswalks and Volksbikes throughout the United States can be obtained by clicking on the "National Events" bar on this page, then "Events" and following the prompts. For walks in over 40 countries worldwide, click on "IVV Internationaler" under "Events".
