Waterloo, Oregon walk
5 km. (3.1 miles) or 10 km. (6.2 miles), both rated moderately easy.
The Waterloo County Campground is between Albany and Lebanon, along the South Santiam River. This Volkswalk is part of a two day "Find Bigfoot" event there. The walks are in both the campground and the small town of Waterloo nearby.
Carpools leave the Willamalane Adult Activity Center, 215 West C Street in Springfield, at 7 a.m. and return there about 1:30 p.m. Each rider pays the driver $5 to help cover car expenses. Following the walk, the carpoolers will probably choose to either have the barbeque lunch at the campground or else eat at an Albany restaurant; in either case, lunch arrangements are always optional for each rider/walker.
People traveling to Waterloo on their own should plan to meet the carpoolers at about 8 a.m. at the start point in the Waterloo Linn County Campground, 39510 Gross Street (post office Waterloo, OR). Or, they may choose to do the walk on their own, starting at the campground anytime between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
