Hosted walk Ridgeline Trail/South Amazon
6 km. (3.7 miles) rated easy, or 10 km. (6.2 miles) rated moderate.
The 6 km. route is along a level, well-maintained bark trail alongside Amazon Creek and through Frank Kinney Park. The 10 km. route is very different, leading on natural trails to, from, and along Eugene's Ridgeline Trail system. Almost the entire route is in beautiful wooded areas. Some steep hills are encountered on the 10 km. route. Sturdy footwear and hiking sticks, if you are accustomed to them, are recommended. Be sure to carry adequate water.
The start point for the walks is at Emerald Valley Assisted Living, 4550 West Amazon Drive in Eugene. Sign up and start anytime between 9 a.m. and noon. Restrooms, water, and baked goods will be available at the start point.
