Brownsville is hosting a "Home for the Holidays" event today, with decorated trees, arts and crafts, and many shops and vendors of Christmas gifts. The walk features the historic downtown, Pioneer Park, Moyer House, and the interesting Linn County Historical Museum.
Carpools leave the Willamalane Adult Activity Center, 215 West C Street in Springfield, at 8 a.m. and return there about 2 p.m. Each rider pays the driver $5 to help with car expenses. After the walk, the carpoolers will probably choose a restaurant to have lunch together, or they may choose to buy from the vendors at the festival; however, lunch arrangements are always optional for each rider/walker.
People driving to Brownsville on their own should plan to meet the carpoolers at about 9 a.m. at the start point, the Brownsville City Hall, 255 North Main Street in Brownsville. Or, they may do the walk on their own, starting from the City Hall anytime between 9 a.m. and noon.
