Lincoln City Year Round Town Walk
Notice Today's walk will be the Lincoln City TOWN walk. The beach walk often encounters unusually high tides at this time of year.
5 km. (3.1 miles) or 10 km. (6.2 miles), both rated moderately easy..
We'll join members of the Yachats Coastal Gems Volkssport Club for this enjoyable walk through Lincoln City. We'll explore older neighborhoods and the Connie Hansen Gardens. We'll have occasional great views of the ocean. There are two short steep hills, and a lack of sidewalks in several places, causing the rating to go from 1 to 2.
Carpools will form at the Valley River Inn, 1000 Valley River Way in Eugene, at 7 a.m. (meet in the lobby). They will return about 5:30 p.m. Each rider pays the driver $10 to help cover car expenses. Following the walk, the carpoolers will probably choose a restaurant in the area to have lunch together; however, lunch arrangements are always optional for each rider/walker.
People traveling to Lincoln City on their own should plan to meet the carpoolers at about 10:15 a.m. at the registration/start point, the Cozy Cove Beachfront Resort Inn, 515 NW Inlet Avenue (just north of the D River State Recreation Area). Explicit directions to the Cozy Cove, and further details of this walk, can be found by clicking on the "Other Oregon Events" bar at the top left of this page, then "Year Round Events" and scrolling down to "Lincoln City - Town Walk". Alternately, the same information on this and thousands of other Volkswalks and Volksbikes throughout the United States can be obtained by clicking on the "National Events" bar on this page, then "Events" and following the prompts. This website also lists Volkswalks in Canada and in 40 other countries.
