Corvallis Year Round Walk
5 km. (3.1 miles) or 10 km. (6.2 miles), both rated easy.
This Year Round Walk goes through parks, along the Willamette River, and past interesting historic homes and the 1888 Benton County Courthouse. Historic buildings dominate the downtown.
Carpools will leave the Willamalane Adult Activity Center, 215 West C Street in Springfield, at 8 a.m. and return there about 2 p.m. Each rider pays the driver $5 to help cover car expenses. Following the walk, the carpoolers will probably choose a restaurant in Corvallis to have lunch together; however, lunch arrangements are always optional for each rider/walker.
People traveling to Corvallis on their own should plan to meet the carpoolers at about 9 a.m. at the start point, The Book Bin, 215 SW 4th Street (southbound Hwy. 99W) in Corvallis. Specific directions to The Book Bin, and further details of this walk, can be found by clicking on the "Other Oregon Events" bar at the top left of this page, then "Year Round Events" and scrolling down to "Corvallis - Historic and Challenges Galore". Alternately, the same information on this and thousands of other Volkswalks and Volksbikes throughout the United States can be obtained by clicking on the "National Events" bar on this page, then "Events" and following the prompts. This webpage can also guide you to Volkswalks in Canada and 39 other countries worldwide.
