Lake Oswego Luscher Farm Walk
5 km. (3.1 miles), 6 km. (3.7 miles), or 11 km. (6.8 miles), all rated moderately easy.
There are two routes, do one or both:
The 5 km. route is on sidewalks past Lakeridge High School and through nice neighborhoods.
The 6 km. route is on paved and natural surface trails through the Luscher Farm, then on the Rosemont Trail to just before the Oswego Winery; it then returns to the Luscher Farm. The farm has an extensive community garden and an interesting collection of scarecrows.
Carpools will leave the Willamalane Adult Activity Center, 215 West C Street in Springfield, at 7 a.m. and return there about 3 p.m. Each rider pays the driver $10 to help cover car expenses. After the walk, the carpoolers will probably choose a restaurant on the way home to have lunch together; however, lunch arrangements are always optional for each rider/walker.
People traveling to Lake Oswego on their own should plan to meet the carpoolers at about 9 a.m. at the start point, the Hazelia Field Park at SW Stafford Road and SW Overlook Drive on the western edge of Lake Oswego. Or, they may do the walk on their own, starting from the park anytime between 9 a.m. and noon.
Directions to Hazelia Field Park, and further information on this walk, can be found by clicking on the "Other Oregon Events" bar at the top left of this page and scrolling down to 9/2.
