Canby Historic Walk and Cruise-In
5 km. (3.1 miles) or 10 km. (6.2 miles), both rated easy.
THIS IS NOT THE DAHLIA WALK. THAT WALK IS ON SEPTEMBER 8 IN CANBY. This walk visits the Annual Canby Cruise-In, then passes through a pioneer cemetery and goes past historic churches and homes and through city parks.
Carpools will leave the Willamalane Adult Activity Center, 215 West C Street in Springfield, at 7 a.m. and return there about 3 p.m. Each rider pays the driver $5 to help cover car expenses. Following the walk, the carpoolers will probably choose a restaurant in Canby or somewhere else on the way back to have lunch together; however, lunch arrangements are always optional for each rider/walker.
People traveling to Canby on their own should plan to meet the carpoolers at about 8:45 a.m. at the start point, the Cutsforth Thriftway Marketplace, 225 NE 2nd Avenue, Canby (park behind the store, not in front of it, please). Or, they may choose to do the walk on their own, starting from the Thriftway anytime between 9 a.m. and noon.
Directions to the Cutsforth Thriftway, and further details of this walk, can be found by clicking on the "Other Oregon Events" bar at the top left of this page and scrolling down to 8/25.
